A LITTLE ABOUT MY JOURNEY TO HERE

I could never have known that my journey would have led to here — connecting with the true essence of animals and their people through photography, telepathy and healing. For me, they are different ways of practicing connection and presence.

While growing up, I recognized my joy in being with animals and wondered how I could have a job being with them. Thomas and Gilbert were our guinea pigs, Glenn was our Finnish Spitz, then came multiple gerbils, and Nihm was our red-eared terrapin. Biology was my favourite subject in school as I was learning about the natural world. However, after refusing to dissect a rat, I knew my future was headed in a different direction. Instead, I followed my love of creating.

Through college degrees in Studio Art, History of Art and Photography, I developed my curious eye and began to learn the art of paying attention. I loved how art could be made from capturing reality through black and white photography and began taking commissions over twenty-five years ago. While working as a freelance photographer making images of people, I was drawn to making portraits of the animals that were around -- just for fun.

It was life-changing for me to discover telepathic animal communication and to know what our animals had to say through professional animal consultations. With low expectations but high hopes, I took a weekend workshop to see if I could learn how to talk to animals. In fact what I learnt is that everyone can do it! Hearing our animals is possible for all of us, if we are open and willing to get quiet and to practice. That was in 2014 and I’ve been practicing telepathy with animals ever since.

For me, being able to communicate with animals is the best thing ever! I'm thrilled to spread the word that it is a natural skill that just needs to be re-awakened in us. And until we can all do it, I’m eager to help folks hear what their animals have to say and to support their relationship and learning together. Honoring what the animals share, respecting their individuality, and being the clearest translator possible is always my goal.

I love that my journey has led me to be able to both communicate with animals as well as photograph them! Combining the wonder of talking to animals with the magic of photography is an intimate process - witnessing the bonds of love and connection between animals and their people, and making the feeling tangible through still black and white images to create meaningful art pieces. I love that the animals get to be active participants. It’s fulfilling that these images of animal family members and messages from them become treasured and precious pieces of paper.

It was because I wanted to help my beloved kitty, Jasper, that I was open to do Reiki training. Being present with animals and their people in the space of love and harmony is an honor. And I later learnt about the energetic modality of Flower Essences and how to customize a remedy that addresses the root shifts needed. These modalities require a spiritual perception and this is really what I’ve been doing all these years as an artist — being in my heart space and using my discernment to see inner beauty and light.

I’m in awe of what happens when we are open. These offerings truly align with who I am and what’s important to me. I’m grateful for this journey that’s brought me here and to all those who have been my teachers, including my past and present animal family. Having the opportunity to bring more understanding, connection, harmony and beauty into lives is such a blessing.
